THE ZEITGUIDE STORY

We just published our 6th annual ZEITGUIDE and it might be our best one since we started in 2010.
It’s been quite a journey to get here.
Many of you may not know this, but I was a teacher before ZEITGUIDE.
After college I moved to Los Angeles and started tutoring high school students – first in chemistry and then in all other subjects. As my reputation for helping students grew, my gift for teaching transformed into a cottage business called “InstaTutor.”
Three years later, I received a call from Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer who is known for his work on “Apollo 13,” “A Beautiful Mind” and “Empire” among many other great movies and shows. Grazer called me “the tutor to the stars,” knowing that my client base was young actors and the children of his Hollywood friends.
I thought Grazer had called me in to tutor his own children, but he had a different request to my surprise: He wanted to be tutored himself!
“I’m curious about everything,” he explained. “I have a discipline for meeting interesting people outside the entertainment business. So teach me about the world.”
It turned out to be a dream job. For nearly half a decade, I was Grazer’s “cultural attaché,” teaching him about ideas and great leaders who are impacting the world from every discipline. The gig was even featured in The New Yorker piece, “Beautiful Minds.”
After a great few years with Grazer, I decided it was time to move on and turn my talents and passion for inspiring and educating others into a company.
The timing of my decision turned out to be perfect. The 2008 financial collapse happened shortly after, and the early days of the disruptive startup culture were just beginning to take off. The Internet was exploding with information like never before. Legacy companies were being challenged. Leaders and entrepreneurs were scrambling and urgently needed to understand this new era of business and culture.
That’s where I came in. I devised my “find, filter and focus” method to sift through this new and complicating world while solidifying my relationships with reliable industry experts. Once again, the hard work paid off. I began to make a name for myself as someone with the ability to distill what was going on in every industry to keep leaders knowledgeable, inspired and engaged. And I did it all through our signature ZEITGUIDE style.
Six years later and here we are. I have an amazing team of curious researchers, creative thinkers and content producers who tap into a wide variety of sources and experts, scouring the world of ideas trying to make sense of it all for our clients – and you. I am also truly proud and grateful that I have been able to build my passion for learning and teaching into a business that helps my audience with what they need to know so they are best equipped for future success.
This year’s ZEITGUIDE 2016 is our most in-depth yet. It covers the leading edge issues covering every industry from travel to food, media, retail, advertising, health, science, finance and culture. I truly believe it to be a great resource for those who want to make sense of their own industry. Besides being a short, easy to read compendium that distills countless pieces of relevant content, ZEITGUIDE’s true value lies in being a window into where you and your business fits into the larger picture.
After all, we are all connected in this world – ZEITGUIDE tries to put it all together and show you how.
Have a great end of 2015 – and best to you for 2016. Thanks for your continued support.
Keep Learning,
Brad Grossman
